Several people have died after a collision near Middlesbrough in northeast England between a police car and a passenger car, the local police force said on Saturday.
Cleveland Police said the incident took place at around 3.39 am (0239 GMT) on a main road near the South Bank area to the east of Middlesbrough.
"Sadly, the collision has resulted in multiple fatalities," a police spokesperson said. "We are working to identify the victims and contact their families."
