Pope Francis says he was stuck for 25 minutes in a Vatican elevator and had to be rescued by firefighters.
The smiling pontif explained while arriving 10 minutes late for his weekly address in St. Peter's Square on Sunday.
He said there had been an electrical power problem in the Vatican and that he had been stuck in the elevator until freed by Holy See firefighters.
"A round of applause for the fire brigade," Pope Francis told the people in the square.
