Egypt and Jordan reject policy of collective punishment in Gaza

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and King Abdullah II of Jordan met in Cairo on Thursday and issued a statement rejecting the policy of collective punishment in Gaza.

They said that included siege, starvation or displacement of residents of Gaza.

The conflict has raised long-standing fears in Jordan, that the outbreak of a broader conflict would give Israel the opportunity to implement a policy of displacing Palestinians from the West Bank.

Meanwhile, speaking at a press conference with his German counterpart Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said the Kingdom feared that the worst is yet to come in the Gaza war.

He added that the war would have serious consequences and called for protecting the region from the danger of its expansion.
