The airport also witnessed more than 27,000 flight movements and handled over 52,000 tons of cargo, in addition to 3,000 tons of air and sea freight operations, reflecting the diversity of operating patterns, the efficiency of the infrastructure, and the ability to keep pace with the rapid growth in demand for air transport and logistics services.

Private aircraft traffic saw an increase of 26.4 per cent compared to last year, in addition to a 20 per cent increase in the number of private aviation passengers through Gama Aviation, the leading private aircraft handling services provider, which continues to provide integrated services.

His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “These results reflect the ambitious strategy and continuous efforts made by the Authority to consolidate the airport’s position as one of the top five regional airports by enhancing operational processes, speeding up procedures, and expanding the network of global destinations and flights.” He added that the continuous growth in the number of passengers, aircraft movements, and cargo reflects the growing confidence of various airlines, strategic partners, the logistics sector, and travelers who find Sharjah Airport to be a pioneering model for comfortable and safe travel.

He pointed out that the Authority continues its commitment to providing integrated services that meet the highest quality standards, contributing to raising the efficiency of operational performance and providing a distinguished and smooth travel experience that meets the aspirations of customers. He expressed his confidence in continuing positive growth at all levels, especially in light of the ongoing comprehensive expansion projects that will raise the airport’s capacity to more than 25 million passengers annually by the end of 2027, in line with the aspirations of the Emirate of Sharjah and supporting the airport’s position as a major strategic hub in the regional and global aviation network.
