Abu Dhabi International Airport welcomed over 2 million passengers in September to register a 5 per cent increase compared to the same month last year. India was once again the top destination, while Qatar and Egypt were the fastest growing routes. Total aircraft movements also increased at the facility but cargo volume fell 3.8 per cent. A multi-million dirham expansion project is currently underway at Abu Dhabi airport, designed to take its annual capacity to more than 45 million passengers.
