The match was fiercely competitive, with both teams creating numerous chances but struggling to break the deadlock. Dani Olmo put Spain ahead in the 51st minute, but Germany's Florian Wirtz equalised dramatically in the 89th minute, forcing the game into extra time.
In the 119th minute, Mikel Merino scored the decisive goal, sending Spanish fans into a frenzy. Spain will now face either France or Portugal in the semi-finals on Tuesday.
