Russia has announced that its anti-doping watchdog will be reformed and not scrapped. This comes after the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) suspended Russia’s Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) as part of a crackdown on drugs cheating. Russia’s Sports Minister, Vitaly Mutko, admitted they were saddened by the decision but respect it. Last week Russia was suspended by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) after a special investigation exposed widespread state-sponsored doping.
