Delhi Capitals moved a step closer to the Indian Premier League (IPL) final after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by two wickets in the eliminator clash on Wednesday.
Chasing a target of 163, Delhi rode on a half-century by Prithvi Shaw (56) and a quickfire 49 by Rishabh Pant to win the game with one ball to spare.
The last over saw some high drama when Amit Mishra was declared out for obstructing the field.
The incident happened with Delhi requiring two runs to win off three balls, but Paul hit four from the penultimate delivery to secure victory.
Martin Guptill was the top-scorer for the Sunrisers, who were restricted to 162-8 as Keemo Paul took 3-32.
Delhi will face Chennai Super Kings in the second qualifier on Friday in their bid to reach Sunday’s final against Mumbai Indians.
