The French Open, which was rescheduled to be held in September this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, could be held without fans.
That's according to the organisers, who highlighted the economic gain into doing so.
"Organising it without fans would allow a part of the economy to keep turning, (like) television rights and partnerships. It's not to be overlooked," FFT (French tennis federation) President Bernard Giudicelli told Le Journal du Dimanche newspaper.
"We're not ruling any option out."
It comes a week after the organisers announced that all tickets would be cancelled and reimbursed.
The clay-court tournament at Roland Garros was initially slated to be held May 24-June 7.
