Unvaccinated employees across federal government entities and ministries in the UAE are now required to take a PCR test every two days.
The new rule was issued in a circular by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, according to a WAM report.
The mandate comes into effect on August 29.
Employees who produce a medical report or certificate from approved health authorities in the country, indicating that they cannot receive the COVID-19 vaccine, are exempt from the now-mandatory PCR testing.
The circular also issued guidelines for representatives from outsourced companies and contracted entities who are present, on a daily basis, at the workplaces of these federal agencies.
The private companies must bear the expenses incurred during the PCR test for every unvaccinated representative working in a federal agency, and the test must be conducted every 48 hours.
In both cases, fully vaccinated employees are exempt from the PCR test.
