The UAE is set to host the AI Impact Summit in 2028 in efforts to strengthen dialogue in tech leadership, following its recent participation in the 2026 edition in New Delhi, India.
The announcement was made by Guy Parmelin, President of the Swiss Confederation, in New Delhi, who also revealed that Switzerland will be hosting the 2027 edition, while sharing his interest in collaborating with the UAE ahead of their summit.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, expressed his appreciation for Switzerland's partnership interest in a meeting with Parmelin on the sidelines of the summit, reflecting their strong bilateral ties in advancing the global AI ecosystem and supporting further cooperation ahead of the UAE’s hosting of the summit in 2028.
The meeting also highlighted the need to strengthen international cooperation to support initiatives that build global AI governance frameworks, ensuring a balanced approach that accelerates technological innovation while improving quality of life for communities worldwide.
