According to an announcement by Syria's Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani, the roadmap includes holding civilian attackers accountable, resuming humanitarian and medical aid, compensating those affected, and ensuring the return of displaced people and abductees. It follows talks between al-Shaibani and his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, and US envoy to Syria Tom Barrack in Damascus.
The Saudi and Kuwait Foreign Ministry also welcomed the roadmap and reaffirmed their support for all steps taken by Syria to achieve security and stability and preserve its resources and territorial integrity.
A ceasefire is in place in Suwayda since July 19, following a week of armed clashes between Druze groups and Bedouin tribes.
