The UAE has denounced the Israeli airstrikes on the Hamad Prosthetics Hospital in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of people.
Describing it as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, the UAE warned that continued Israeli military escalation threatens to cause further civilian casualties and deepen the humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) reaffirmed the UAE’s rejection of attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure. The Ministry underlined the urgent need to protect medical facilities, institutions, and healthcare workers.
The Ministry also urged the international community to intensify efforts toward a serious political solution based on the two-state framework — one that fulfills the aspirations of the Palestinian people to establish an independent, sovereign state in line with relevant international resolutions.
Israel's ground and air war has devastated Gaza, displacing nearly all its residents and killing more than 53,000 people, many of them civilians, according to Gaza health authorities.
The war began with the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack in which about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, were killed and 251 hostages seized, according to Israeli tallies.
