The UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention has capped the cost of COVID-19 PCR tests at AED 50.
The rate will be applicable at all national medical facilities, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced on Twitter.
It also added that the test results must be delivered within 24 hours.
The latest directive comes into effect on Tuesday, August 31.
