The UAE has sent over 156,000 food parcels to Syria, which will benefit a total of 780,000 people.
The humanitarian initiative led by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) is part of the ongoing 'Gallant Knight 2' operation to support people in Syria and neighbouring Turkey.
It was launched by the Joint Operations Command at the UAE Ministry of Defence following the earthquakes that struck the two countries in February.
According to the ERC, the food packages that were transported via air and sea bridges were distributed in the provinces of Latakia, Hama, Homs, Aleppo and Tartus.
Each parcel can feed a family of five.
