The UAE and Russia signed an agreement pledging to promote outer space for peaceful purposes and enhance cooperation between the space agencies.
Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, the Minister of State for Advanced Technology and the Chairwomen of the UAE Space Agency, and Dmitry Rogozin, Director-General of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), were involved in the signing.
Both countries stand to benefit from this agreement, including collaborating on manned space missions, using spacecraft launch services, assisting in satellite communications, and more.
Another part of the agreement will see both the UAE Space Agency and Roscosmos assist international efforts to solve scientific, technical and international legal challenges related to exploration and the use of outer space for peaceful purposes.

It aims to strengthen the legal order in space and further develop and harmonise international space law.
Developing international space law and harbouring peaceful coexistence is a key focus for both agencies.
