UAE residents open to buying cars online, survey shows

One in five people in the UAE would purchase a new car online rather than in a showroom.

That's according to a survey by YouGov MENA, which found that men are more likely than women to buy a car on the internet.

Meanwhile, it found that 25 per cent would buy a second-hand car on the internet, while 41 per cent would buy it if it came with a discount.

The digitalisation of the car buying process is being supported by the UAE government with the launch of the DubaiNow app, which makes all stages of car ownership easier and faster.

Ashima Kumar, Account Manager at YouGov MENA, explains why we're seeing this trend.
