UAE Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, Lana Nusseibeh, has reiterated the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, stressing that civilians cannot be abandoned and the security council must step up.
Speaking during a meeting at the UN Security Council, she emphasised there is no hierarchy of civilian lives and called for the release of all hostages and humanitarian access to the region.
Nusseibeh also called for fuel for hospitals and desalination plants, water and adherence to international humanitarian law.
In its explanation of vote on the US and Russian draft resolutions on the war in Gaza, #UAExUNSC affirmed that the UN Security Council is obligated to assign the same value to Palestinian life as it does to Israeli life.
