Schools across the UAE are to receive AED 6 million worth of books and educational resources from the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced the grant to encourage reading among students while supporting the region's publishing industry.
The books and educational materials will be distributed to school libraries across the country.
"This generous grant from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed offers a strong foundation to continue our efforts to keep the local and Arab publishing market globally competitive," said Dr. Ali Bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC)."
It will also play an effective role in advancing knowledge and culture in the UAE, providing students with a wide variety of books and reference materials from the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair," he added.
The 31st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) opened on Monday.
