A number of high-level UAE officials are set to hold talks with global counterparts on ways to boost the manufacturing sector.
It's as the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit gets under way in Russia today, with the UAE Minister of Energy and Industry Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, giving a keynote address.
The UAE delegation will take part in discussions on topics such as food security, the evolution of 3D printing and future-cities.
Top of this year's agenda at GMIS, a joint initiative of the UAE and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, is the role that manufacturers need to play to support the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
Meanwhile, special sessions will take place on how industrial development can help tackle issues such as world poverty and hunger, while also ensuring social inclusion and safeguarding the environment.
