The official spokesperson for the UAE Health Sector, Dr Farida Al Hosani, said the country is building up its COVID-19 vaccine manufacturing capabilities.
Speaking at a virtual meeting of the Atlantic Council, she explained there is a national-long term strategy to support the global community.
Dr Al Hosani said the UAE is discussing support for different countries with the "vaccine supply network," involving the sharing of infrastructure and knowledge.
In addition, she said the response to the nationwide vaccination programme has been better than expected, adding that the successful rollout has been enabled by technology and innovation.
In another interview on Tuesday, Dr Al Hosani said "there is no right or wrong vaccine against the COVID-19 virus".
During her virtual webinar with Emirates NBD, she noted that while there are differences in how they work, the key is to get vaccinated.
She underscored that all of the vaccines approved by the UAE are effective and safe.
The top health official stressed the need for everyone to focus on getting the vaccine as soon as possible.
