The statement from the UAE was released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The four countries also urged signatories to “live up to the commitments made in the political agreement,” according to the same statement.
Consequently, as the countries take note of the political progress made by Sudan, the quartet encouraged progress towards the formation of a civilian government comprised of independent experts.

The statement also touched upon the November 21 agreement signed between Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok.
Abdalla Hamdok was reinstated as Prime Minister of the North African nation after prolonged unrest.
“The ongoing protests demonstrate the depth of the Sudanese people’s commitment to transition,” said the statement, adding that, “protecting them from violence should remain a priority.”
As part of the agreement, an election roadmap was presented, marking 2023 or early 2024 as a deadline to establish election guidelines. The statement issued by UAE and the countries stressed the importance of publishing the election plan early.
The quartet’s reaffirmed that they will “continue to show solidarity with all those working towards achieving this transition”.”
