The UAE has expressed its solidarity with Canada and the US after a collision between an Air Canada Express jet and a fire truck at New York's LaGuardia airport late on Sunday killed both pilots and injured dozens.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) conveyed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the government of Canada over this tragedy and wished all the injured a speedy recovery.
The Air Canada Express CRJ-900 plane, operated by its regional partner Jazz Aviation, was carrying 72 passengers and four crew members and had departed from Montreal, said Jazz, which is owned by Chorus Aviation.
