UAE expresses condolences to Philippines over typhoon victims

The UAE has expressed its sincere condolences and solidarity with the Philippines following the floods and heavy rains caused by Typhoon Kalmaegi that killed at least 66 people.

The typhoon, locally named Tino, which struck the central part of the country, also displaced more than 200,000 people across the Visayas region, including parts of southern Luzon and northern Mindanao, ahead of a storm that submerged homes and caused widespread flooding and power outages.

The devastation from Kalmaegi comes just over a month after a magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck northern Cebu, killing dozens and displacing thousands.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) offered its sincere condolences and sympathy to the victim's families and the government, wishing a speedy recovery for all the injured.
