UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi have underscored the need for an immediate halt to military escalation in the region during talks in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
Addressing the serious implications of the military escalation, the leaders stressed the need to pursue dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the conflict in a way that prevents further tensions, and preserves regional security and stability.
El-Sisi, who is on a fraternal visit to the UAE, reiterated Egypt’s condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and other Arab countries, noting that it constitutes a violation of state sovereignty and international law.
El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s solidarity with the UAE in the measures it takes to uphold its security, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people.
The leaders also discussed bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic and development fields, and exchanged Eid Al Fitr greetings.
