The United Arab Emirates has dispatched an aircraft carrying 37 tonnes of provisions for children and women as part of the 'UAE Stands with Lebanon' relief campaign.
This marks the ninth humanitarian flight dispatched to Lebanon, demonstrating the UAE's ongoing support for the Lebanese people amid the current crisis.
Since the campaign began, a total of 375 tonnes of food, medical, shelter and children’s supplies have been delivered to Lebanon.
On September 30, the UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced $100 million in humanitarian relief packages to support the Lebanese people. He also allocated $30 million of urgent aid for displaced Lebanese citizens in Syria.
"The aid reflects the UAE’s unwavering and continuous support to the Lebanese people, in line with UAE’s endeavours to consolidate global peace and stability," said Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation.
She also underscored the UAE’s commitment to facilitate early recovery for nations and communities impacted by humanitarian crises.
