The UAE has delivered aid airdrop over the Gaza Strip, in coordination with Jordan, after Israel announced new aid corridors and daily halt in military operations in the enclave.
It marks the resumption of the "Birds of Goodness" initiative and the 54th airdrop to provide humanitarian aid to civilians trapped in isolated and inaccessible regions.
The aid is part of a strategy to deliver relief by land, sea and air in partnership with regional and international nations.
Since the launch of the initiative under the UAE's Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, more than 3,725 tonnes of food and relief supplies have been airdropped using 193 aircraft. These include food items and materials aimed at alleviating the suffering of families affected by the catastrophic conditions in the Strip.
Since the conflict broke out in October 2023 until November 2024, the UAE has contributed $828 million (AED3.04 billion) in Gaza aid, making the UAE one of the leading global contributors in this crisis.
