UAE condemns terrorist shooting at Bondi Beach

The UAE has strongly condemned the terrorist shooting at a Jewish gathering in Australia's Bondi Beach that left at least 12 people dead and around 30 more wounded.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) reaffirmed the UAE’s rejection of these criminal acts and all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability.

The Ministry also expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, and to the government and people of Australia, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.

Gunmen opened fire at Sydney's Bondi Beach during a Jewish holiday event on Sunday, in what Australian police and officials described as a terrorist attack.

One suspected gunman was killed and another was in a critical condition, New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon told a press conference. Police were investigating whether a third gunman was involved in the shooting, and a bomb-disposal unit was working on several suspected improvised explosive devices, Lanyon said.
