The UAE has strongly condemned continued Houthi attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which injured a number of civilians.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks were a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability.
The ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with the kingdom and its support for all measures to safeguard its security. It also wished the injured a speedy recovery.
The airport has been targeted repeatedly in recent days. Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority said an attack on Saturday killed at least 12 people and injured more than 300.
A further attack on Sunday killed one person and injured 11 others, after a fire broke out at Terminal 4 following the interception of a missile nearby.
On Monday, the authority extended the suspension of operations at the airport while it checks the safety and readiness of its facilities.
UAE carriers have cancelled flights to several Saudi cities, including Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah and Abha.
