10 countries and 30 operators have been banned from using UAE air space over lack of commitment to safety. The General Civil Aviation issued the ban as it carried out more than 300 inspections under the national programme for safety assessments of foreign aircrafts. Ismail Al Baluchi, Assistant Director-General for Aviation Safety at the GCAA says they do not make the list of banned countries and operators public as the ban itself is enough to ensure the safety of passengers and anyone living near airports.
