The UAE has announced COVID-19 safety protocols for attending events marking Commemoration Day and the 50th UAE National Day.
According to the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), the activities will be limited to vaccinated attendees or those with a green pass on their AlHosn app.
- People of all ages will be allowed to attend the events, provided they received the vaccine more than 14 days ago, got a booster shot or have a green pass status.
- They must also present a negative result of a PCR test taken within 96 hours of the event.
- Venues can operate at 80 per cent capacity for the events.
- Members of the same family can stay together without the need to apply the physical distancing rule, while all others must maintain a distance of 1.5 metres.
- Attendees must also avoid shaking hands or greeting others with a hug, and maintain appropriate distance when taking photos.
- Organisers must sanitise public areas regularly and install sanitisation stations at the entry and exit of washrooms.
The guidelines were announced during the government's COVID-19 media briefing on Tuesday.
