President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a cable of condolences to his Ethiopian counterpart Sahle Work Zewde and the families of victims of the plane crash.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also sent similar cables to the Ethiopian leader.
All 149 passengers and eight crew members on board the Boeing 737 have been confirmed dead.
According to reports, the passenger jet crashed six minutes after departing Addis Ababa on its way to Kenya's capital on Sunday.
