The Sharjah Government Media Bureau has released a public safety guide outlining protocols for responding to official alerts.
The guide urges people to stay calm, follow official instructions, and rely only on information from authorities.
For those indoors, it advises avoiding open areas like balconies and windows, taking shelter in secure spaces, listening to internal alerts, avoiding lifts if instructed, and staying put until authorities confirm it is safe.
For those outdoors, it recommends moving calmly to the nearest safe building or suitable shelter, steering clear of glass surfaces and external walls.
The Bureau also warned against spreading rumours or unverified information and stressed the importance of following security teams’ instructions.
Residents are encouraged to contact emergency services at 999 if needed and avoid photographing or sharing images from incident sites.
Officials said these measures are part of Sharjah’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community safety, maintain stability, and ensure essential services continue uninterrupted.
