Investigations are underway to determine the cause of a gas leak that affected as many as 84 workers at a Sharjah industrial zone. Preliminary police investigation into the incident that happened on Wednesday afternoon apparently found that the gas cylinder pipes were cut on purpose. These workers reportedly suffered from mild asphyxia as they inhaled gas that leaked from cylinders that were supposed to be sold to a scrap firm. They were then rushed to nearby hospitals but most of them were released soon after.
