Sharjah has beefed up its sustainable public transport fleet with the addition of more electric vehicles.
The emirate's Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has unveiled 10 fully electric taxis, in addition to two electric buses with a capacity of 27 passengers.
A fleet of Tesla Model S and Model 3 vehicles will also be launched soon.
The initiative is part of the emirate's efforts to boost sustainable travel options. The SRTA currently owns more than 750 hybrid vehicles that run on electricity and fuel.
The authority has urged the public to make use of its expanding public transport fleet.
