Several roads in the UAE capital will be temporarily closed on Saturday to make way for the fifth edition of the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon.
According to the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), the closures will be implemented in phases from 12 midnight until 2:00 pm.
The areas affected include Corniche Road (in both direction), King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street (outbound), Al Bateen Street (outbound), Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street (outbound), Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street (inbound), in addition to streets surrounding Al Hosn Palace.
Participants will start the race from ADNOC headquarters on Abu Dhabi Corniche, passing landmarks such as Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Al Bateen Palace, Al Hosn Palace and World Trade Centre, all the way to the finish line at ADNOC Complex near Baynunah Park.
The ITC has urged the public to avoid walking and passing through these roads during the temporary closure.
It has also encouraged the use of alternative routes such as Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, Sultan bin Zayed the First Street, Sheikh Zayed Road (outbound), and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street.
