President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates have looked at how the foundation could join forces with COP28 to address the impact of climate change on human health.
During the call, they addressed the value of modern technology in this regard, noting the need for innovation to find effective and long-lasting solutions to environmental protection and sustainable development.
Sheikh Mohamed and Gates also touched upon potential collaboration and initiatives to combat global epidemics such as Polio and other neglected tropical diseases.
They reviewed the impact of initiatives such as the "Reaching the Last Mile" Forum, held in Abu Dhabi last year, in mobilising and accelerating global efforts to support developing societies to eradicate life-threatening diseases that impede their social and economic progress.
During the call, Gates praised the UAE's significant role in delivering humanitarian relief to societies around the world and how the country's efforts have helped tackle global diseases and epidemics.
Gates wished the UAE leader and his people continued well-being and prosperity on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
