Pope Francis has welcomed the UAE's recent decision to set up a high-level committee to spread the principles of tolerance and cooperation.
He's also expressed hope for similar initiatives to come up in other parts of the world.
According to national news agency WAM, the multi-faith committee will implement the objectives of the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together, which was signed by the Pope and the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Dr. Ahmed el-Tayyeb, in Abu Dhabi in February.
It aims to promote the values of mutual respect and coexistence among young people, with the help of national and international institutions, as well as religious, academic, and political leaders.
