Heavy rainfall and reduced visibility is causing delays at Dubai International Airport, with travellers advised to allow for extra time to get to the airport early.
Speaking on DubaiEye 103.8’s Business Breakfast on Monday morning, Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, said the adverse weather means planes are not taking off as quickly as scheduled and passengers may experience delays.
Earlier on Monday, the UAE weather bureau issued a weather alert as heavy rain, thunder, lightning and hail affected large parts of the country.
Residents in the UAE also received warning of the adverse weather conditions by text messages, urging them to be vigilant when stepping out.
