Authorities are urging parents to constantly monitor their children while playing, particularly near water. The reminder comes after an eight-year-old Arab boy drowned in a dam in Fujairah. According to reports, the youngster was visiting Wadi Al Siji on Friday when he slipped and fell into the dam, which authorities say was full following rainfall the previous day. He was rushed to Al Dhaid Hospital but was pronounced dead a few hours later.
