A new succession planning system has been approved for Emirati employees within the Government of Dubai.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister has issued a resolution regarding this.
It introduces a structured system to identify key positions critical to business continuity and departmental goals. The initiative aims to enhance corporate risk management and ensure smooth operations.
Under the new system, high-performing Emirati employees will be identified and groomed for future roles, with a unified approach to succession planning applied across all government entities.
The resolution covers all Emirati civilian employees, with exceptions for those on temporary or special contracts, secondments, and retirees.
The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has been tasked with developing a comprehensive guide to the procedures, timelines, and templates for implementation.
It will also monitor compliance and recommend any necessary amendments.
