Abu Dhabi Airports and Hafeet Rail have signed a strategic agreement to develop joint logistics and transport solutions linking air and rail networks between the UAE and Oman.
The partnership, announced at the Global Rail 2025 exhibition, will explore the integration of Al Ain International Airport with the upcoming UAE–Oman railway, creating a vital corridor to Oman’s Sohar.
Officials say the project will transform Al Ain into a strategic hub for regional trade, tourism and industry — supporting seamless movement of passengers and freight.
The partnership also strengthens the role of Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone by opening direct air–rail links that are expected to stimulate trade, create high-value jobs, and deepen ties between Al Ain and Sohar.
A joint working group will now begin shaping the next phase of air–rail integration.
