The Council expressed hope that the agreement would mark the beginning of a lasting peace in Lebanon, preserving its sovereignty while strengthen stability.
It also called on all active parties to adopt similar efforts in achieving a lasting ceasefire in Gaza that would ensure the delivery of emergency relief and humanitarian aid to civilians.
The Muslim Council of Elders also renewed its call to the international community to assume its responsibilities and work towards a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
It stressed the importance of ending the suffering of the Palestinian people, which has persisted for more than 70 years, and reaffirmed their legitimate right to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
A ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, brokered by the US and France, came into effect on Wednesday at 0400 local time after more than a year of fighting that has killed thousands of people.
