Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has completed a series of traffic upgrades in the Business Bay area, aimed at improving road safety, easing congestion and enhancing overall traffic flow.
Three key improvements were carried out along streets connecting Business Bay to Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.
Among the changes, a street parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road was converted from a two-way, two-lane road into a one-way dual carriageway—doubling its capacity and reducing traffic overlap points. Updated signage and road markings were also installed to improve safety.
At the intersection of Al Mustaqbal Street and Al Khaleej Al Tejari 1 Street, a new 100-metre storage lane now boosts right-turn capacity by 50 per cent and eases congestion toward First Al Khail Street.
Further enhancements include reorganising the service road near the Business Bay Towers and adding an extra lane, increasing capacity by around 50 per cent.
Additionally, the entry point to the bridge on Al Mustaqbal Street over the canal has been expanded from one lane to two, easing peak-hour pressure in the direction of First Al Khail Street.
These improvements are designed to benefit residents, visitors and businesses in one of Dubai’s most dynamic districts.
