His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the successful completion of the 1 Billion Meals humanitarian initiative, launched during Ramadan 2022.
The campaign has now delivered one billion meals to people in need across 65 countries, with an additional 260 million meals set to be distributed over the next year.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed gratitude for the UAE’s ability to give, and praised the generosity of the nation and its people.
To ensure lasting impact, His Highness also confirmed the establishment of sustainable real estate endowments to fund continued food aid efforts in the years ahead.
The 1 Billion Meals initiative is the largest food aid drive of its kind in the region, building on earlier efforts like the '10 Million Meals' and '100 Million Meals' campaigns.
Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), credited the campaign’s success to strong community engagement and partnerships with UN agencies and local organisations.
He confirmed that the initiative is on track to reach 1.26 billion meals by the end of 2026.
