An Emirates SkyCargo flight has transported the first shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine from the Belgian capital, Brussels to Dubai.

It was offloaded and received priority clearance on arrival at the airline's dedicated SkyPharma facility.

The UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced the emergency registration of the vaccine late on Tuesday.

According to a statement released by Dubai's Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management on Twitter, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will be available for free of charge from Wednesday, December 24.
