Some flights operating at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) were cancelled or delayed on Friday due to adverse weather conditions.

In an update, Dubai Airports said all operations have "returned to normal" on Friday.

"Flights are operating as planned, with only a limited number of connecting flights still being clear," DXB said in its post on social media.

"Please check your flight status with your airline and plan your journey in advance using real-time traffic updates."

Operations at DXB faced disruptions from Thursday due to the adverse weather conditions. Speaking to Dubai Eye 103.8's Business Breakfast show on Friday, Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths said a significant number of flights were cancelled since Thursday evening.

He added that both airports are making sure to minimise the impact of any delays or cancellations, with a few diversions reported.

Emirates airline on Friday reported disruption to its services on December 18 and 19, with "some flights being cancelled, delayed and retimed".

The airline said the decisions were made keeping passenger safety in mind.
