Electric scooter rental services are allowed to resume in Abu Dhabi from Monday, October 12 but the capacity will initially be capped at 25 per cent.
According to the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), the service is allowed within the districts of Al Reem Island, Al Maryah Island, Al Zahia, Al Dana, parts of Al Bateen, Corniche and Marina.
As part of the COVID-19 safety protocols, operators must provide single-use gloves, hand-sanitizers, and disinfectant wipes at e-scooter rental sites, while they should also carry out periodic health checks to ensure employees are free from the virus.
Face masks and gloves are mandatory for staff during working hours.
Inspections will be stepped-up to ensure compliance with the rules and legal action will be taken against violators.
