Dick Schoof, Prime Minister of the Netherlands has praised the UAE and its security cooperation after Dubai Police extradited wanted criminal Faisal Taghi to the Netherlands.
An international arrest warrant was issued against the 24-year-old Dutchman, on charges of drug trafficking, money laundering, human trafficking, and running the criminal organisation "Angels of Death".
Dubai Police moved to arrest Taghi after receiving a warrant from the Dutch authorities via the International Cooperation Department of the UAE Ministry of Justice - the central authority responsible for receiving requests for official international cooperation.
He was transferred to the Public Prosecution in Dubai and handed over to the relevant judicial authorities in accordance with legal procedures.
In 2019, Dubai Police had arrested Faisal's father, Ridouan Taghi, once considered one of the world's most dangerous criminals and was listed on Interpol's most-wanted list.
Ridouan was then the head of "Angels of Death," responsible for over 300 different crimes, including assassinations and murders.
Dutch authorities had also offered a financial reward of 100,000 euros for any information leading to his arrest, until this was done by the Dubai Police.
Ridouan is currently serving a life sentence in the Netherlands.
