Preventive road maintenance works spanning 16.7 km were carried out by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in the first half of 2023.
These works covered key roads and highways, including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Rebat Street, Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Street, Al Khail Road and Al Rasheed Street.
As many as 28 preventive maintenance tasks were carried out, that focused on repaving roads, asphalt resurfacing and repairing damage caused by natural factors.
These measures are aimed at extending the lifespan of roads and improving operational efficiency, in addition to ensuring the safety of road users.
"The RTA uses cutting-edge technology and adheres to the highest safety and quality standards when performing these maintenance tasks. This helps to improve road operational efficiency, maintain structural integrity and ensure the well-being of road users," said Nabil Mohammad Saleh, Director of Roads and Facilities Maintenance at the RTA's Traffic and Roads Agency.
